IBM ThinkPad Computer, XP, running Office 2003, I can see his calendar next
to mine on my PC. Up until a few days ago he could accept or decline meeting
requests just fine. Now he cant. What Happened?

I am having the same problem. It just started a few days ago. Maybe an office
update causing the problem??

The user did an uninstall and reinstall of ofc2k3 and this resolved the
issue. It still doesnt explain why it happened.

I came here for help, not to be overwhelmed with wise cracks. What is an
ofc2k3, and where did I ever mention I had it?

Who is making "wise cracks"? I am being serious, OFC2K3 is Office 2003.
Check your intial post you mention that is what you have. Uninstalling and
reinstalling OFFICE 2003 fixed our issue but like I said it doesnt explain
why it started happening. Do you understand now?

Don’t know the ramifications of reinstalling office. From past experience
when installing new software, complete wipe out of programs happen and days
of reinstalling everything feverishly happen. I am on a small budget and
can’t work with the expense this will cause. Would appreciate a detailed
explanation of how installing this without affecting the current messages
(1000... or so), contacts (5000...or so), load, etc. What kind of credentials
do you carry?

Sir, it just depends on how outlook is configured. If you are attached to an
exchange server like I am, you will be fine, since messages, contacts, etc
are stored on the server. If you are using outlook to manage e-mails from
your local ISP then you will need to export your mailbox then import after
the reinstall. I am not telling you what to do, I am merely stating what
worked for us.

Good Luck!!

Uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook doesn't touch your data, but it can't
hurt to make a copy of it. The file you want is the PST. if you're not
using an Exchange account. See this:
http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/backupandrestore.htm

Consider trying Help>Detect and Repair before trying an uninstall/reinstall.
COnsider a new mail profile as well before trying an uninstall/reinstall.

I wish the detect and repair worked. I did try it and it cant find the folder
where the files are at. How could it move after it was installed?

What about the 2003 Office Disk to aid the above, (looking for the folder,)
would that help on the detect and repair?

I dont know how to back up all the emails, addresses, 6 folders of
contacts,(mega contacts) but I will try the link.

We are a VPN connection to server, using Exchange and Cached mode settings.
Can you have two profiles in Outlook? How does that work? I have Outlook
Express at home, and have five identities, is that along the lines or
something different.
