Borders in Excel spreadsheet.

For some reason when I try to change the border colour of
a cell or group of cells excel doesn't change the border
colour. I try to choose a colour and then click OK but it
does nothing and then the next time I look at the cell
format the border colour is still sitting on automatic
instead of the colour I chose.

Is there anyone that has tried this or has a solution for
me? Any help would be much appreciated.
