Border on image?

G

George

Hi!
I'm trying to migrate to Access (2000)

Got a database that has images associated with records.
Use a form to step through the records. (There are only a few)
The images have a black border, which looks wrong on some records
as the images are not all the same size.
In properties, I have made the border transparent, same colour
as the background, but it still appears next time I open the form!
In fact, the transparent reverts to solid.
How can I hide this black outline, please?
(I did it once, but don't know how!)

Thanks!

Make sure you're making the change in Design View, with exclusive access to
the database.

I am, and Tools/options/Advanced is set to No locks, exclusive.
But still no joy!
Anything else that I can try?
Thanks

To be sure you're in Exclusive mode, first open Access, then select the
database. When you open the database, click the down arrow next to the Open
button, and select Exclusive.

Yes, now done that.
But, the border is still there!
(It disappears as I make the change, just in Design mode, but after closing
the form, and
saying Yes to save changes, when I then re-open the form, the border is
back!)

So, I'm still stumped!
What am I missing?
Thanks!

It's back in Design view, or in Form view?
(Often borders show up in Design View, to help the developer place
objects, but don't show in Form View.)
Do you have this same problem if you try to save other design changes?

I have tried so many things,.........
In design view, I can get the border to disappear.
Saving changes (other than the border) all seem OK.
But, re-open the form, (Form view) after saving changes and the border is
there!
In design view, select the image properties, set border to transparent, and
set border colour to the same as foreground, border does go.
Close the form (design view) and save changes.
Open the form, and the border is there.

A previous version of the database was OK.
But, in a textbox properties (probably a Control source) there was a
formula
with 3 leading brackets.
I mis-counted and thought this was wrong, so removed one of them.
It was not wrong!!!!!
But, from then on couldn't open that form in any view, just got an error
message
when I tried.
So, deleted the db and started again.
If I restored it, is it possible to get into that properties line to correct
it?
If so, I MAY be able to find how I achieved the border "hiding".
But I'm not very hopeful!

Any help?

Thanks

What was the error message you got?

Not sure now. It was something about the "formula" being unbalanced.
And when I tried to restore the db. it was not there, so that line of
enquiry has gone..
But.....
I have noticed that if I set the border to say green, then a second border,
green, appears
outside the black one.
So, I am changing the border in the wrong place?
Does this help?
