bootvis and standby

I was having a problem with resume from standby on a new motherboard and a
long boot time until I could connect to internet. After reinstalling the
drivers for my mobo and vid card didnt help I tried bootvis and let it do
its thing. Now I am getting resume shutoffs. Should I do a repair install of
win xp to fix it? Thanks
