In simple terms is this the correct boot order.

I'm told it's,

1. Bios
2. Partitions
3. MBR
Then Windows will start.

Doesn't the MBR come after the bios?

TIA

Thanks Gerry,
I had a look and it appears to be too much information and a little too
technical for me.
My main concern is the order the I was told.

I basically need to know if this is the correct order (basically the three
items listed).

The system BIOS is what starts the computer running when you turn it on.

11. The BIOS begins the search for a drive to boot from.

12 Having identified its target boot drive, the BIOS looks for boot
information to start the operating system boot process. If it is searching a
hard disk, it looks for a master boot record at cylinder 0, head 0, sector 1
(the first sector on the disk);

Hope this helps.

Yes, the BIOS passes control of the boot process to the MBR which in
turn passes it to the boot sector.
