User has bootup latency with issue has Windows XP Pro with SP3 update.
System is on a Domain and seems to hang at applying computer settings. When
machine is unplugged from network, latency is not there. I have seen this
issue on 4 different machines on our network as well. Model is a HP DC5800
Desktop and Hareware in machine is Intel Centrino Processor, 4GB system ram,
and 80 gig Hard Drive.
I have tried many different scenarios:
-Updated device drivers-no luck
-took machine off domain and added it back in-no luck
-Removed Client and Services from network properties (stack), restarted, and
readded-no luck
-I even ran a scan for Spyware/Malware to rule that out-found nothing.
-Ran a net use to see if she was mapped to some old drives-no luck there.
-Since she is running through the phone, I tried a different phone to see if
that was a problem-same issue occurred.
-Plugged in a laptop to her phone that is booting quick; booted it up and
could not reproduce latency.
-Brought machine into my location, slow bootup time still occurs.
What is interesting is that if you unplug network cable from machine, it
boots right up. Tells me the network is running something or looking for
something that’s not there or having a hard time to find.
-I also put her in a group that blocks inheritance totally and issue still
occurs.
-Removed 3rd Party GPO softwware desktop authority and issue still occurs.
It takes right around 2 minutes once her applying computer settings progress
box pops up before the login screen.
After running bootvis, it shows network latency with the mrxsmb.sys.
I have also seen machines that have latency when applying network settings.
I would appreciate any ideas or help anyone can give me on this.
