I have a computer running Win XP Home, and every few days
when it boots it goes to a black screen stating there has
been a file corrupted. unning chkdsk /r always fixes it
and a few days later it happens again.

I've tried turning off disk caching, and new IDE drivers
and it just keeps happening. Has anyone got any idea's?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Regards
Darryl

Are you using NTFS or FAT32? Have you checked the disk
health with any diagnostics?

It has two partitions. The working partition is NTFS and
second partition is FAT32. I've run scandisk through
Windows once it was up and running several times and found
nothing. I've run Seagate diagnostics on the drive and it
found nothing. I'm starting to think it might be a RAM
problem ... basically because I'm out of ideas. LoL

Do you have some RAM you could swap, or have you run
memtest?

Try enabling SMART support for this drive in BIOS (if the BIOS of your
computer supports it) and see if it complains about the drive getting bad.
