Why am I getting the blue STOP screen during bootup? The
operating system is not corrupt. This is with a hd from
another unit that works just fine. Same os and only diff
is mother boards.
Thanks Milt

Different motherboards is why. Sometimes it will work and sometimes it will
not - mostly not due to the IDE configuration/drivers being different for
different motherboards/chipsets. --- Steve

Hi,

If its XP,

You need to do a repair install.
To do this, IIRC, bung in the XP CD, boot off it, proceed as tho you were
going to do an install, it will detect that you have XP installed already
and ask you if you want to do a repair. Reapply SP1 if it was one and
reapply all security patches.

You may need to check you boot options in your bios before doing this, and a
backup of your data prior to starting is a very good idea.
