Hi,

I wondering if anyone can help. Recently, booting up XP has taken an
extra-ordinary longer time than usual. It displays the desktop quite
quickly, however, when starting any programs it goes into a "wait" cycle for
a 3 to 4 minutes until XP sounds it's intro/welcome tune....which at that
point completes the bootup process. Once the bootup completes, XP will
execute the programs I started 4 minutes ago. Any other programs I execute
after bootup run immediately as per normal. I don't why it goes into a
"wait/hold" phase during bootup and obviously I want to stop that from
occuring. Any ideas?

Thanks
Nick

.
go to admin user go to start and go to run type in
msconfig there are your services that boot up with your
machine.
Make sure the drivers and programs you need load normaly
don't touch anything else

I am having that exact same problem. It just started
about 4 or 5 days ago. Let me know if a solution is found
