booting windows doesn't show previous setup

I have a Windows 2000 pro system and when I boot
the system it shows the windows that were displayed
when I shut down.

I'm configuring a new Win2000 pro system and when
I boot, the previous windows do not display. Is this
a configurable feature?

Create and set the Reg_Dword value
"PersistBrowsers"=1
located at
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

Be sure to apply these to your new install before connecting to any network.
