Hi

We are building a Thin client which takes 42 - 44 seconds to boot (which we
analysed with Microsoft BootViz).
For reference we took the XP Professional with all the applications and
drivers (exactly same of the thin client functionality) was constructed and
it only takes 20 seconds to boot.
Both are booted from a Harddisk

Here is the result of the analysis.

Parameters XP Pro XPE
Logon and service 10 Seconds 20 Seconds

.....Both are loaded with the same functionality.

This is abnormal and all other parameters remains satisfactory.

Where can i look for the problems???

Thanks

Srivathsan,

If you suspect it is the shell app, you can always make it as Shell on XP Pro (just play with [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon],"Shell" key).

Also, when you test your XPe image boot performance, I'd recommend you to disable the network stack completely (and maybe remove
NIC(s) temporarily). At least you would know if the problem is network related.
Also, try to disable all [some] services you can disable to see if it makes any difference.
