booting issue

I had to reboot my windows 2k server today and it didnt come backup....

If I try to boot my server it stops at the starting windows screen with
the bar at the button of the screen and it stops half way and never
reports and error.

What can I do to get the server up and running again. Also how can i
verify my disk is good at this state? The disk is IDE.

Try Safe Mode, or Last Known Good Configuration.

You can check your disk with the diagnostic program that
many hard disk manufacturers make available free of charge
on their home site.

Then you should be a lot more specific so that someone
can assist you. It's the same as you telling your doctor
"It hurts". If you're a human then he might ask you "Well,
where exactly does it hurt, and what exactly did you do".
If you're a horse then the vet might say: "We'll put him
down".

I will now assume that your PC is a horse. Put him down!
Format the hard disk! Start afresh!
