Is it possible to make a Win98 bootdisk using a compact flash card instead of a floppy?

I bought a USB2 multi flash reader, and would like to finally be free from the floppy. I know it can be done from CD and I have
one, but the flash memory would be much easier to use.

your bios must have this ability to set it to boot from flash card usb. I
don't know if that even exists.

Yep, BIOS supports it (Asus P4P800 Deluxe 1009). Problem I'm having is WinXP will not let me format it as a boot disk, and simply
copying the boot files over doesn't do the trick. I believe it is missing the boot block.

I have 4 flash slots that show up as removable drives, and I only use one for the camera.

So, I'm looking for ways to use the other 3. I've got one using a worthless 4mb Sony Memory Stick as a backup for Money. Two more
to go! <g>

I'll get this thing to boot. Off to post on the Asus NG.

The P4P800 - non-deluxe (Asus) - BIOS
1010, also works with an Apacer 7-1 reader.
(which is a replacement for a floppy
and is also USB2). And is also internal.
(it plugs onto a spare USB connection
on the mobo). So, you can pull the floppy
out completely and replace it with this.

It gives u 4 extra drives in BIOS. And also
supports USB Mass storage devices.
(The BIOS).

It shows in my Windows Explorer
as H, I J K, as removeable drives..

At the mo, I'm using a 128mb SD with
a digital cam. And it shows as 120mb
as a removeable drive.

I too, removed the floppy and in the
boot option of the BIOS, u can, or well
it gives u the options of booting from
any of the 4 devices from the reader.

So, yup I would say you would need
an option, like USB Mass Storage Device
Config (On your PC) .
