Bootdisk to DOS/Screen Timeout

I can't figure out which subgroup to post this in, so
I'll post it here. I work at home in DOS (WP5.1) and have
to use a system disk to boot every day (command prompt
does not work for this). My hard drive is partitioned.

If I'm not typing for 1 minute or so, the screen goes to
black and I can hear the CPU revving up again when I
touch a key to "reactivate it." Other people doing the
same thing I do do not have this problem. Any idea where
I might find the problem? I have checked the BIOS for and
it isn't there; it's almost like a screensaver function
that I haven't programmed.

It sounds like your hard drive (not CPU) is spinning down and back up. Since
you aren't in Windows, it is most likely the BIOS that is controlling this -
look for a Power menu or something like that.
