I have windows XP pro, and I would like to create a bootable cd, any advice

Native WinXP cannot create a bootable CD, a 3rd party software package such
as Easy-CD or Nero is required.

The Windows XP CD is bootable.

Mine is not after formatting drive C.

Into FAT32.

When I boot the MS WINXP it does the post ok but then comes up with:

Invalid System Disk.
Replace disk then press enter.

This makes no sense. There is no floppy in the drive a: and the CD is the
original MS WINXP upgrade.

But I get the same error when I try to put the Full version of Windows ME
into the CD drive.

Have you set the BIOS to boot from CD?

yes it always was.
Computers have a will of their own, it seems.

I have installed windows xp a dozen or more times on my own computers or on
my children's.

Seldom hgad this problem.

BUT - after trying probably 10 times before and doing NOTHING at all
different, no cable, no BIOS, no different CD, nothing, all of a sudden it
does install.

I am still in the process but all seems normal.
