I recently had my system upgraded to XP Pro. But when I
turn on my computer, it aks for a boot diskette to boot
up which I don't have. By using my XP disc, I am able to
get my system up and runnng. But obviously I want to be
able to boot up in the normal fashion with the Bios(?).
The fellow who did the XP installation is now no where to
be found. How can I fix this?

Go into the System BIOS and be sure the Hard Drive is first in line in the
boot sequence. When you boot the system, usually the first screen has a
message that gives the instruction to depress a specific key in order to
enter setup. Depress whatever key it tells you to depress. Then, you will
have to navigate to the boot sequence and set the hard drive first line.

It sounds as though the person who did the installing set the CD-ROM drive
first in line in order to facilitate XP setup. On some systems when this is
done, the system does not search other available drives for boot information
hence, once setup is complete, you must reset the boot order and place the
Hard Drive first in line.
