Hello.
I have downloaded "en_windows_vista_beta2_x86_dvd.iso" (and the
corresponding product key) from the MSDN.
I have burned a dvd with this iso file.
Problem : this dvd does not boot on a new pc (or any other pcs) !
Question : is it possible to create a boot dvd to install Vista B2 ?

Thank you.

Make sure that when you're burning it to DVD that you are burning it as an
image and not just a file. If you burn the file as an image using like
Roxio or Sonic DigitalHome (or preferred DVD burning software), then the new
Beta 2 should boot.

Don't forget also to check the boot order in your computer BIOS. Put the
CD/DVD drive first.

I downloaded only the X86 Beta 2 (3.2 Gigabytes). If I tried to burn
directly with EasyCD Creator 6.0, all I get is a Readme file in the
finished burned DVD. I actually had to use ISOBuster to extract the
content and the .Img file and create my own Bootable disk to be able
to install. I saw this same action in the previous CTP as the download
contained both X86 and 64-Bit ISO modules bundled together. I do
have Dual-Layer DVD-R capability but am reluctant to download the
complete 7.0 Gigabyte download when I only require the X86 part.
Not sure if what I experienced is "Global" or just due to my burning
application.

Yeah I had to use Nero 7 to get more than just the .txt file to burn.

I've burned the all successfully to DVD. You might want to try the free
BurnCDCC from http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/utilities.html. For simply
burning an ISO to CD/DVD, I've never seen it fail even when other apps fail.

You don't need to extract the ISO to burn it to disk. Like I said, you need
to make sure that you are burning it as an IMAGE and not a FILE. You will
get only the README if you try and crack it open.

I had to use Daemon Tools (again...)

Not really. I did not extract the iso and my first iso burn with Roxio 7
produced only the readme file.
Switched to Nero and it burned the same iso just fine.
Not the first time I've seen this happen with my Vista iso's using Roxio 7

Hello.
Thank you very much to all of you.
After reading and trying your suggestions, I finally create a booting dvd
with Windows Vista Beta 2.
This was simply done (and in a few minutes) with :
BurnCDCC from http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/utilities.html
as indicated by Tom Porterfield in the above post.

The dvd was booted and Vista installed as a charm.

Thank you again.

But, you have to change the type media in the Nero SmartStarter to DVD.
