boot up

i heard before vista came out, you were gonna be able to use the pc before
windows boot up. somethong like that. can someone xplain to me.


ig i am not wrong, you were gonna able to listen to a cd before windows
boots up

Also allegedly you can view your calendar and a few other things. This is
for laptops that have the specific hardware that (as far as I can tell)
doesn't exist yet, as it needs a separate screen, etc... PCMag or PCWorld
did an article on it in the May or June issue.
 
I used to have an Asus P4P800 motherboard that did that regardless of the
installed OS
