1 )I have windows XP home edition......all of a sudden ,
When I restart my computer , the setting now makes me
click onto my primary user icon , before it finishes
booting up.Why did this happen , and how do I change it
back , so that it does a complete boot up to my desk top ?

2 )How do I get rid of icons in my taskbar that I do not
want there (and running in the back ground ), in the
bottom right of my screen ?

Thank you Wayne...Desparate???!!!

From an earlier post:

'Go to Start/Run and type in: control userpasswords2 and press ok.

On the Users tab, clear the "Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To
Use This Computer" check box, and then click OK.'

To hide those annoying icons:

Right-click the Notification Area (where those icons reside)
Select Properties
On the Taskbar tab: "Customize" button
Click on each icon you would like to hide, and use the drop-down menu to
select "Hide when inactive" or "Always hide."
OK
OK

Click start run and type control userpasswords2 and hit enter and uncheck
user must enter a password. For the icons click start run and type msconfig
and click the startup tab and uncheck what ever you don't need running.
