Hi there,

Hope someone can offer some help, my computer (ASROCK Motherboard, AMD Athlon processor) seems to have problems when booting up, it can take several attempts before everything 'kicks in'. Thought that lack of power may have been a problem but have just replaced the power supply however that does not seem to have resolved the problem. I would be grateful if someone could offer some other explanation. Apologies if this has been answered already but I couldnt find anything in the search.

thanks in advance for any help offered,

Andymcc

At what stage does the bootup fail, does it just hang or is there an error message? You'll need to give as much detail as you can :)

Hi there,

sorry for not explaining fully I'm not really up on all this, but I'll do my best.

When the you press the power up button you can hear the fans working but the hard disk drives dont seem to engage peripherals like USB hub lights dont come on and monitor says its not receiving signal.

after a few goes we seem to get lucky and things start working again you can hear the fan running quicker and then the hard disks kicking in and the checks start appearing on the monitor.

Occasionally whilst the computer is running, it will just 'cut out' its still on but the monitor, USB hub etc arent working just like when it doesnt boot up correctly.

I thought it might be a lack of power so have replaced the PSU however that hasn't made a bit of difference, my other thoughts were hard disk or motherboard may be at fault.

thanks in advance for any help offered
