Boot up problems

When booting up everything appears to wpork normally,
then, just prior to the "Welcome" screen, I get a blue
screen which says:
'Checking file system on C:/.......

'CHDSK is verifying files.........

'unspecified error....

'correcting cross link for file 8'

Then Windows starts and appears to run normally. What is
going on?

If you are shutting down by holding the power button

down, this is your problem. shut down using start button
in tool bar, then select shut down
