I have a ibm 600 thinkpad and only by leaving my xp os disk in cd drive will it boot from the hard drive. It gives me the option from booting from cd and if I leave it and do nothing then it will boot from the hdd. If I leave the cd out and boot up I get a display on screen asking me to insert a floppy in fdd and press f1 I dont have a startup floppy and would appreciate any advice at all on how to resolve this problem.

thanks

Greetings,

The only way to remove this, is to do this via BIOS. You've got to put the
first option as "Floppy Disk" in the "Advanced Settings". I don't recommend
you touch the bios settings.

Bring your computer to a local technician for assistance.

Thanks and best of luck!

Go into the BIOS and set the laptop to boot from the hard drive first.
I'm not familiar with your TP, but on my later model if I press the
blue IBM Access button as the machine is starting up, it will get me
into Setup.
