Hello,
I've build a windows xpe SP2 image with xpproemulation.slx template (KM)
with almost complete functionality of a Windows XP Professional system. All
works fine.

But: booting the system takes an inacceptable long time. About 1 minute
until the desktop appears, then again the task bar and all desktop icons are
locked for at least 1 minute (mouse pointer is hour glass)!!! Further, the
shutdown process can last up to 50 seconds. By the way, the system is
connected to an intranet with DHCP server.

What steps I've to take to probably avoid these delays?
Thanks all for help.

Hardware: Intel Celeron 300A
RAM: 64 MB EDO SIMM
Pagefile: 128 MB min, 256 MB max.

Hi,
Hardware: Intel Celeron 300A
RAM: 64 MB EDO SIMM

Perhaps it is normal behavior?
Have you tried how long does it take for XPP with SP2 to boot on this computer?

Anyhow use MS bootvis tool to test boot times.

Also for test try switching DHCP configured network to static IP.

And you mean that on such configuration (CPU/RAM) standard XPSP2 flies
like brees? I don't believe you, men.

Add more memory, replace CPU, check that you have ATA controllers
drivers installed, check services that marked to start automatically.

Additional note:
I've installed BootVis and the responsible service for the long boot time is
called "Logon + Service". The normal boot process is ready after about 37
seconds.
