Boot Problems

I need help in what I think might be a licensing issue. We purchased
the development tools for Microsoft Windows XP Embedded in March, but
have not yet purchased a runtime license.

Yesterday, we built a new image, but our target failed to start FBA. I
went back to previous known working versions of the image, and still no
FBA.

I tried to boot from a CF that has been through FBA and has worked in
the past, but still I only get a black screen when I try to boot the
target computer.

Are these problems associated with no runtime license?

The target computer does boot from a harddrive running Windows XP.

Not related to licensing, I would expect to see FBA launch or the splash
screen as you boot to the desktop when the OS detects that the license has
expired and a bugcheck screen appears.

I think the runtime you built long ago is not configured to boot on the
machine you've applied it to, or the boot configuration is not set where you
used to have it. For intance, if you originally built the runtime for 'C:',
but is appearing to the BIOS as 'D:', etc...
