I get a message "NTLDR is missing " @ bootup ...Anyone seen this before?
anyone know how to fix it?

This is covered in Microsoft's knowledge base. Look
under NTLDR. It explains how to re-install this.

Replace ntldr and ntdetect.com
You will need Windows XP cd
1.If necessary, change the boot order in BIOS to boot from cd
2.Insert XP cd and restart your computer
3.When given option to Press any key to boot from cd, do so
4.When you are given the first option to Repair, press R to enter Recovery
Console
5.Press the number identifying Windows installation, usually 1
6.Enter the administrator password if you have one; otherwise, press enter
7.Enter "copy D:\i386\ntldr C:\" no quotes
8.Enter "copy D:\i386\ntdetect.com C:\" no quotes
9.Remove the cd and type exit
