I can't boot my computer in normal mode properly after SP2 installation
(Windows XP Home Edition).
If I check 'Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer'
(Start>Run, type in 'control userpasswords2'), click 'OK' and reboot the
system, then the computer stops to boot when 'Welcome' screen appears and
never gets the desktop.
If I uncheck 'Users must enter a user name...', enter 'Owner' (the account
name of an only user) instead of 'Administrator' and the password in the
next two boxes, then the computer stops to boot when 'Loading your personal
settings...' appears on the screen.
The same situation if I use Tweak UI.
The only way to get to the desktop in normal mode is to enter an incorrect
password. It results in the prompt while booting 'The system could not log
you on. Make sure your User name and domain are correct, then type your
password again...'. I click 'OK' and go to the 'Welcome' screen with Owner's
name and picture. I click on it and go to the desktop.
Are there any settings to fix this problem? Anyone with an idea wood be
much appreciated!
