not sure if this is where to post but i found this site and thought someone
could help. I have an old ibm that originaly had 98. i put xp on it and it
worked fine. The video card wasn't new so i decided to upgrade it. When i put
it the new one nothing would show. So i switched it out with another one and
that didn't work either. But now i went back to the original that was in it
and it seems to boot windows fine until it finishes the (bar moving by)
which is loading windows i suppose. after it restarts. This is the original
video card so it was working fine before any ideas? (I have a feeling it's a
heat problem.)

Ok, I just had the same problem with my PC that was running Windows 98 SE. I
was fine until I installed the floppy drive. I was getting a resource
conflict message when I started the boot process. I could boot in safe mode
but not in normal mode. I had a resource conflict on slot 4 of my pc
expansion card slots. When I changed the network card to slot 3, presto!
After that it booted. Lets go back a bit. I could get to the spot where it
asked you if you wanted to go into set-up press f2, or resume f1, or if I
wanted to run it in safe mode, safe mode with networking, normal mode,
command etc...
Well, I hope that helps you a bit. It took me almost a week to figure it
out troubleshooting.
Good Luck, attilathehun1
