I reinstalled XP-H on top of itself, after this I recieved a boot options screen asking which OS "XP HOME" or XP HOME" If I choose the first it boots to the new installation desktop. If I choose the second it boots to the destop I had previous to the reinstallation of XP-H. I did edit the boot options text file and set the new installtion as default and set the boot option display time-out to 0 seconds. So now the booting is ok, but is there a way to SAFELY remove the old installation (FOR THE SAKE OF DISK SPACE AND RESCOURCES) or Should well enough be left alone? PS. In the start-up boot file it shows (2) seperate lines on the same partition

Thanks

If it was me i would format the hard drive and start over with fresh install
and all the disk space.
