I am trying to reformat my XP professional to start from scratch. However,
when attempting to do so, I discover that I have an invalid boot.ini. When I
go to recover and rebuild my boot.ini file in setup using bootcfg /list, it
does not give me any to choose from, so how can I rebuild a boot.ini file
that does not exist?
The way my XP is currently set up, it does not boot through a boot.ini file.
In fact, at start up, it says invalid boot.ini and says "booting from
c:\windows"
I guess that is how this cpu was set up 4 or 5 years ago. My computer is
somewhat old. It's a Gateway with an 600 mhz Intel Pentium III computer. I
would appreciate any help regarding this matter. Thanks in advance.
