Yep. I do it all the time. The stick, however, must also be able to
provide a bootable disk image.
My sticks (Pen-Drives) come with software that partitions them, then
installs a bootsector and the DOS bootfiles from Win 98. I assume that
it could be set up to boot other operating systems, but haven't tried.
If the BIOS has "Removable decives" it should work. My Intel Skt 370 freezes
if i boot with my usb drive plugged in though.
