I have XP Pro.

When booting up it get's to the screne that has the blue
bar going across. This blue bar will go across 7.5 times
then freeze.

Rebooting goes fine.

Can't do a System Restore because I had it turned off.

Anyone know how to fix this?

If rebooting goes fine means that it restarts and loads OK, that could
be a sign that your Power Supply is getting flaky.

Hi,
I don't have a fix for you but I can commiserate. I have exactly the same problem. It only happens about once or twice a week, and I have to manually power off the computer. What kind of computer do you have with this problem? Mine is an eMachines, and doesn't come with XP boot discs. It has restore discs (2 CD's) but they say on them "only for use in eMachines computers" and they don't seem to have the recovery console, or repair options (as opposed to a complete restore). By the way, I did a complete restore months ago and it didn't cure the problem. I've gotten no fix that worked from either eMachines or Microsoft support. The tech at eMachines stepped me thru reseating the ROM cables (I think that's what he called it), and afterward he told me I would have to ship it to them for testing. Help!
