First time user here. Can anyone give a suggestion as to
why this is happening: I woke one morning to find my PC
booting up. It passed POST without error and began
launching W2k Pro. While still in DOS mode the horizontal
status bar at the bottom of the screen reached its end
then nothing. The screen went blank and POST started up
again. This process repeats itself over and over again.
I tried to reinstall the OS (into a different WINNT
directory to save my data) and it too fails to start up.
I removed the drive and replaced it with a spare, loaded
W2k and nothing - same problem. I flashed the BIOS,
swapped the memeory out, even ran diagnostics on all the
hardware without any reported errors, and still I cannot
get windows to launch. Could this be a virus (NAV was
running), bad motherboard, little green men, ??? S.O.S.
