Ignore last post, modifying.

In the list that autoruns gave me, there's an entry...

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Windows\Ru
n

Following this is a line that trys to start a program that
doesn't exist. The program name listed on this line is
just "|" (a vertical bar).

I ran msconfig, but it shows no sign of the offending
program.

What do I do next?

thanks much,
rex

Please don't start a new thread for each post - continue
your existing thread instead.

You have to get rid of then registry entry that causes your
error message. Do this:
- Click Start / Run
- Type regedit.exe {OK}
- Navigate to this key:
Current User \Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Windows
- Check the value against "Run". It's probably a vertical bar.
- Double-click the word "Run", then delete the vertical bar.

That took care of it. Thanks!!

Sorry for starting a new thread. I'm new to the list and
was concerned that if my thread was buried under all the
newer ones, it wouldn't be perused again.
