i made boot disks last year and i want to use them. How do i do this?

Why do you require boot disks?! The Windows XP disc is bootable - simply
change the boot sequence in the BIOS (see system manual).

yes but in the boot disks i have my settings there when i redid my machine. If i took the disk then i would loose everything

How and what did you use to make the boot disks? If it was the 6 floppy disk
set, then there is nothing on the disks related to your specific system
configuration. If it was a third party application, consult the applications
documentation or post the name of the application.
