Could someone please tell me where the bookmarks in IE, and or FF stored on
the computer? Is it possible for me to store and save them if I plan to
re-format my hard drive?

IE stores then as individual files in Favorites.
C:\Documents and Settings\Alan\Favorites
Firefox stores them in one bookmark file in:
C:\Documents and Settings\Alan\Application
Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\7xvtshy3.default
Where the folder under profiles changes from PC to PC.
And of course change 'alan' to your user login name.
