I know-- what am I doing putting this card in a Socket 7 system ??
It's not your usual K6-2; it's a K6/III + laptop cpu running at
550 or higher. I went with the 9100 as it looked like the "last
best gasp" of a 2X AGP card .
It actually went in with no problems 3 weeks ago; pulled the Rage
128 and slid in the 9100; nothing other than minor driver issues.
It worked fine; even ran a ton of older games like Serious Sam 1&2;
Max Payne 1; RTCW and such. Agreed; they didn't do the hottest
frame rates; but I'd challenge anybody to outdo mine with a K6 <g>
Things went to hell when I decided to pull out the 2949UW SCSI card
and the old Sanyo BP4 burner to put into a dedicated "burner box"
for a friend who does short run demo CD's.
Win 98SE decided to "rearrange resources" after pulling the 2940;
now the 9100 confilicts with about everything known in Device
Mangler. I've played all my tricks; no luck. The Rage 128's back
in the AGP slot; it went back in as easily as the 9100 did at first.
Any ideas?
