Bold insertion point cursor?

I'm looking for a setting to make the insertion point cursor bold. I found
the setting for the blink rate (keyboard settings), and I found the dark
I-beam cursors for the mouse, but I need the _insertion_ point cursor so that
the search location is easier to see when "find" is used. Now, the found
location is like a needle in a haystack (I use the cursor-control keyboard
arrows, and look for the change). The app is Visual Studio 2005 express (and
other apps that have noisy screens, like Notepad++). Has anyone run into
this?
 
Go to Control Panel, Accessibility Options. Click on Display tab. at
bottom should be the blink rate and below that the width of the cursor.
Move the slide to the right to make the insertion point wider and to the
left to narrow it. Click on Apply then OK. You should have a larger cursor
now.
