Bogus power connector error

I have a Radeon 9800 Pro in this machine, and I've seen the error message
about the power connector not being plugged in twice now. The first time,
a warm reboot solved the problem.

The last time, however, I had to cycle the power supply (i.e. remove all
power from the ATX motherboard) before the card started behaving again.

In both cases, the power connector was firmly in place, and the cooling
fan was operating.

Any ideas what causes this glitch?

Make sure the molex connector to the vid card is on it's own and not
bi-connected to other devices.
