When an image is embedded into a massage on Yahoo Groups, it will be saved
as a .BMP image automatically.

Is there anything I can change in WinXP that will allow to save as a .JPG
automatically?

No. It's like a letter; it has words and punctuation in certain places
and they must stay there. You can however use other programs to change
it from a bmp to say a jpg or gif, after it has been saved to disk.
