Blurry text, menus

My Windows 2000 display is blurry -- all text, as well as
menus and the icons at the bottom of the page. What
should I do about this?
 
Have you checked on another monitor to make sure that it isnt just hardware
related?
 
It's on a laptop, and was sharp and clear before. Looks
like some sort of display problem, almost as if not enough
data is going into the characters and icons so they are
coming out fuzzy and vaguely double-looking. It tried de-
checking smooth font edges in Display and that didn't
help. Any other thoughts? Thanks very much

Do you have clear type enabled?
