Blurred,fuzzy images IE 6.

Done all of the recommended suggestions..Still no joy..Current PC is running
XP Pro with SP2 and all current updates..
I have another PC (work) that is running Win 2K with all updates & the
problem does not exist on it..I share the same
keybaord/mouse/monitor between them..

Any other suggestions/solutions..Would like to see this resolved..

Find the information on your video driver. Then go to the website for mfg.
of the video driver and look for the update to download and install. There
may also be a Update Driver button on the dialog box of your driver
information on your machine you can use to go direct to the driver update
download site.

Try reducing hardware acceleration:
Right click on the Desktop on an open area,
Properties>Settings>Advanced>Troubleshoot
Move the slider back to the left a little and test to see if that helps.
Try it at increments until you get all the way to the left end to see if
that helps.

Cannot see or save Images/Pictures Fuzzy Text and fuzzy web graphics

Perhaps your ISP compresses images to reduce download time. Ones's such as
Earthlink, AOL,
Netzero and a few others have this option. You may be able to disable it by
checking your ISP Help files.

Change the DPI setting from Large to Normal and see if that helps.

You might also try this fix. Although it worked for a few others, it may not
work for you, but, it may be worth a try. But, be sure to back up your
Registry before you try this:

Open Regedit
Open \HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\PROTOCOLS\Name-Space Handler\

Delete the keys "http", "https", and "ftp"
Leave the 'mk' key

The mk key is created by Windows and the others may be created by some other
dnld or type manager.

Can't View Some Graphics on IE/AOL

If you have Norton Personal Firewall or some other ad-blocking software or
popup stoppers installed, try disabling this type of software temporarily to
see whether this could be the problem. Many of these programs block
Javascript, which is often used to pop up login windows and create rollover
graphics. Norton Security, for example, is known to block any image that
originates from another server (advertisement images usually do), and I'm
guessing it also blocks at least some Javascript.

Set the following -

Under Security
Java Medium
Display mixed content-prompt is checked

Under Scripting
Scripting of Java applets
Is set to Enable

Privacy settings are medium

Check if your encoding setting in IE. To do this, click on View / Encoding,
and make sure Western European is selected.

I have done all the things you listed..Still did not solve the proble..I
have a spare hd, so I hooked it
up to the computer where I am having the blurred image problems..I installed
Win XP Pro (same as on my problem machine), SP1,SP2, and all current
updates..The blurred image problem is NOT there..This is vanilla system..No
user programs installed..This makes me think that some piece of software or
spy-ware or ad-ware, plug-in is causing my problem..I guess I will keep
looking unless someone else comes up with a fix..

Yes, some forms of adware, spyware and parasites can cause this sort of
problem too. If you have any popup blockers, or toolbars like Yahoo or
Google disable them. If you have Yahoo Companion, uninstall it. Disable
any popup or adblockers in your firewall, or programs such as
SpywereBlaster, SpyBot, etc., and see if that helps. If not, then you
should do the following.

Even if you have already run some programs, run them again according to the
instructions in the information below to thoroughly clean you system. Some
variants of malware can replicate itself and return repeatedly if not
cleaned properly. It is best to read through all the information before you
start to know before hand what you need to do and how. Follow all
instructions to letter as much as possible.
