Hi all,

First off, let me tell y'all that I'm not a computer whiz, so if this is a
very silly -duh- question, sorry!
I've just bought a cellphone that has bluetooth and I've been trying to
connect it to my computer (windows xp professional, service pack 2 installed)
but it doesn't seem to work!
This is what it does:
I'm trying to make sure in bluetooth that my computer can recognize other
bluetooth applications and that my computer is recognizable for other
bluetooth applications. However, when I check all the appropriate boxes and
hit the apply button, it says that there's an error and my settings are not
saved! It also says that my bluetooth radio is not connected but I don't even
know what that is!!!! Please help....

Another thing: I've checked to see if Bluetooth Radios are located in the
Device Manager by clicking Start-> Run-> devmgmt.msc, but it's not in there
either! What does this mean?

Has Windows been able to identify any of your new bluetooth devices? It
sounds like Windows is not identifying the phone on its own. My only
suggestions at this time would be:

-Check that your system is capable of supporting bluetooth devices. Tandem
to that is checking in BIOS to ensure that the bluetooth components are
enabled. My portable PC (Motion tablet) has such a setting so that battery
power can be preserved if bluetooth devices are not being used.

-Backtrack and review the phone's manual for directions on getting it setup
and connected to a PC. The order of installing software and connecting
devices can be critical to success. Also check the phone manufacturer's
website for FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions), troubleshooting guides and
perhaps updated drivers.
