I'm wanting to invest in a wireless keyboard and mouse
for use with a laptop and possibly a desktop used as a
DVR in the future. But for now with a laptop.

Any advice on bluetooth vs RF based units? I have
bluetooth capability in this Thinkpad laptop.... but as
I said above may want to use it with a desktop setting
ten feet away....so wondering if RF has more range?

Advice on brands/models?

You could try reading reviews.

I'm not familiar with Bluetooth, but regular wireless works just
fine here.

I doubt there is much use for wireless keyboard/mouse on a laptop.

Picked up an IR K/M Logitech out of 100, 300 whatever selections were
offered for $20. For the coffee table and a MM computer. Biggest
problem now is wish I had an IR wake-up MB.

I use a BT loigtech dinovo edge in the living room with a Mac Mini to
stream media. I have used it up to 20 feet back sitting at the dining
room table, eating dinner and surfing web. I prefer BT as I hate
awkward IR dongles. The Dinovo Edge also has mouse pad built in so I
don't have 2 devices laying around.
