BlueTack Hosts File

Rick - how much time have you given it? There've been a number of posts in
these forums over time documenting LONG processing time for large text files
in a variety of areas of Microsoft Antispyware functionality.

Personally, I agree with Engel and Ron Chamberlin--I'd rather have a default
hosts file with only the minimally needed entries for my environment.

However, if you want to run the way you want to run, you're going to either
need to tolerate the behavior, ditch the beta, or see if you can triage the
issue and figure out whether there are specific lines in the file that are
at issue.

One approach would be to do a binary search--split the hosts file in half
and try each half separately, and if the problem only happens with one half,
split that one in half......etc.

Not sure whether it is specifics, or shear size--if it is shear size, I
think you'll need to choose which form of protection to keep.
