bluescreen and reboot

i get this blue screen that stays up for a few (2-3) secounds, saying something about memory dump...and rebooting to avoid any damage. This only happens while playing games. system is 3 weeks old and all new. help!

If the system is three weeks old, then why aren't you contacting the
manufacturer and invoking the warranty?!
 
I've experienced this in the past. In my case, I needed to update my video
drivers and DirectX.

I'd suggest you check out your OEM's web site and see if they have a driver
update available for your video adapter. If they don't have one listed, go
the video card manufacturer's site and update it from there.

After you update your video drivers, make sure you're running the most
recent version of Direct X. You can get this via Windows Update under
Recommended Updates.

After getting everything updated, try the game you get blue screened on
again and see what happens. Let us know what the result is.
