Bluetooth is not really meant for this type of connectivity. In general, BT
is used to connect peripherals (printers, keyboards, mice (mouses?), and so
on). It was never really meant to carry network type traffic.

There are undoubtedly ways to make this happen but in the long run you would
be far better off to use a LAN technologyto connect to your gateway.

If your goal is to goal is to be wireless, then you will need a wireless
access point (802.11g is probably your best bet, look at offerings from
LinkSYS, SMC, Asante, Belkin, among others) at the gateway, and of course a
compatible wireless network adapter at the laptop.
