and o by the way - now I'm not able to open any websites in IE ... although
OE is still working and I'm able to get mail (although no hotmail of course)

The BSOD could have so many causes - try posting the contents of the
first two lines here. The experts will help you interpret it.

The websites in IE could be several things. As the OP suggested,
start with your ISP - there could be a DNS problem which you need to
configure.

If your ISP can't give you a solution, suggest a DNS hijack. QHosts
was last months worm of the month, which provided this problem.

1) Search your entire hard drive (including all hidden and system
folders) for file "hosts" (no extension - just hosts).
2) Read these articles.
