Hello all. I have received the dreaded blue screen of death on my laptop. I
am getting the Unmountable boot volume error, however; the error codes are
not consistent with those that signify a damaged file system. I cannot boot
in any way (normal, safe mode, last known good, VGA, etc.) I have tried to
run the recovery console and repair with a chkdsk /r and chkdsk/p. Both times
the result is the same. It scans until it gets to 50% then it shoots up to
75% and then drops back to 50% ans stalls there. It doesn't do anything after
that. The only thing I may think would be a problem is....
I have windows XP with service pack 2 installed on my laptop (I think) and
the setup disk I have is from another computer and it is labeled Windows XP
with service pack 1a.
Any thoughts?
