Conversation: BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH
Subject: BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH
I receive the STOP...... Blue screen each time my computer turns on and get
to the logon screen then the screen fades black like it is going to take me
to my desktop but it doesnt. The logon screen freezes and the Blue Screen
appears. It just keeps following the same pattern. I am able to use safe
mode, and Windows cant find any sololutions? Should I restore to past dates?
Or What? Please help.
Brandon,
Recently installed/updated software or device drivers can be the source
of STOP errors you have so uninstalling them/using system restore
*could* help. However, to make an informed decision you should first
find STOP error details in System Event Viewer. You can post them here.
Also, in most cases Windows creates a memory dump at the time STOP error
occurred. This file is the best source of information about BSoD cause.
However, working with dump files requires some experience. You can find
dump files in your Windows directory:
c:\windows\memory.dmp
c:\windows\Minidump\*.dmp
