Hello All-

I have an AMD Athalon 3200+ (64 bit) computer, and I have tried to install
both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Vista to no avail. Both versions (on
correctly burnt DVDs) start the setup but result in a blue screen 0' death
with "Error Macine Check". What could this possibly mean?

The 32 bit version does launch the install from within windows xp, and I
chose to install on a new partition. It coppied all the files over that it
needed and rebooted. I get the menu to boot my old OS or the continue with
the vista (intall), but that, and all it's varying SAFE_MODE and debug mode
options all end the same way -

BLUE SCREEN!

- If there are developers out there, I feel the error is that the machine is
not passing some hardware system check (even though both XP and Fedora (4/5)
love it).

Hi..All,

I tried installing Vista Beta 2 today (32bit)....on a IBM A52 with i gig
RAM. Damn got a Blue screen at the end of installation... Haden't time to
read anything.... it just restarted and undid everything. Tried twice.

I ran the Vista Upgrade Advisor and the report showed that may machine was
compatible and that oly the TV card driver needs to be mannualy setup.

I'm tryinig to install it in dual mode with Windows XP SP2 as my primary OS.
but was unsuccessful.

Has anyone come a cross a siruation like this... was there a solution if so
please let me know.

Regards

Hi all,
This is very critical issue that one of microsoft's software has,im not sure
if anybody has encontered this same problem. "Windows Defender" is a big
problem in Vista. I downloaded Vista and it worked fine the aero glass and
everything, but after some time it started popping blue screens specially
this error message in particulatr "0x0000007F: UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP"
there is nothin u can do to fix this problem, there were a few more types of
blue screen errors that might pop up; good trouble shooting techniques can be
found on this website http://www.aumha.org/win5/kbestop.php anyways,i had
to reinstall xp pro and i was installing every software one by one very
slowly, then at last installed windows defender and when it was doing the
system scan the blue screen popped up again. I think I made my point, If
anybody knows how to delete or disable 'Windows Defender' in Vista tha would
be great. ,AYNE THIS WILL HELP
Thanks

try to disconnect or take out your XP hard disk. There seems to be a problem
with the dual boot.

I'm getting the same error on trying to install Vista. Anyone find a fix yet?

AMD64 3200+
Abit UL8
2GB Crucial PC2700 RAM
GeForce 6800GT

OK, I've got the same problem. A BSOD with error 0x0000007F during
installation. In my case it happens during the installation boot cycle, just
after the installation background appears. During 10 seconds I can move my
mouse but no user interface appears. After 10 to 20 seconds my PC reboots.

I've tried both 32- and 64-bit versions of Vista
Asus P5WD2-E premium
P940
2 gig mem
Asus 7800GT
Nvidia 7300
NEC DVD 450

bump...

although beta 2 installed fine for me, i'm getting this problem in rc1 where
i get to the completing installation stage and after a minute, the BSOD
flashes, and the computer restarts. so while i think it said 0x0000007F i
cant be sure.
Then it tells me that an unexpected reboot had occured and i had to
reinstall. i've done that about 6 times already. i checked the md5 and the
sh1, and they're correct, and i burned at 2x, so i think my disk is fine.

This sounds like a video driver issue to me. Format the partition where you
are installing the RC1 and try a clean install again.
